Z02 - Generation of a reference cohort with extreme eating behaviour

We will generate a large cohort of individuals characterized in detail for eating behaviour under basal and stimulated conditions and will link these data with anthropometric, genetic and metabolic profiles. By pre-screening of the individuals, we will select a large group of participants with extreme eating habits and, as a control group, participants with normal eating behaviour. Comparing both cohorts with psychometric, biochemical, and genetic techniques will identify novel cognitive-behavioural, metabolic and genetic markers of extreme eating behaviour. These well-defined cohorts will serve as the human resource for comparison of human and animal data from other projects within the T-CRC 134.
