A05 - Dissecting the role of the nesfatin-1-oxytocin axis in the reward system

The expression pattern of the anorexigenic adipokine nesfatin-1 in the brain clearly suggests an involvement in reward-driven regulation of food intake. Current data indicate an interaction of nesfatin-1 with oxytocin and the melanocortin system. In this project, we aim to explore and define reward-related circuits involving nesfatin-1 and oxytocin and study their role in the interaction between homeostatic and non-homeostatic appetite regulation.
